AnimeSeen: E-Penis EXTEND!
Posted in zero thoughts by moyism on June 30th, 2007

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I’m actually plugging AnimeSeen in a good way.
So due to a few slow days at work, I was finally able to check out AnimeSeen that I’ve been seeing some of my blogging peers pimp out for the past several months. The site, run by Guru3, is exactly what it seems to be: a place to catalog the anime/manga/etc you have, are, or want to watch/seen. It is simple, straight forward, and pretty easy to use which is fine for me since the easier, the better. I know there are probably a few other sites like AnimeSeen out there, but I think what makes it slightly better than the rest is the fact you know almost user is from the anime community; a good majority from the anime blogging community. So it’s great seeing what people like DiGiKerot or Maestro have/are watching/reading and thanks to the ranking system/info/notes features, get an idea of what is “good” or “bad” to them.
If you ever needed a simple way of keeping track of what anime you watch, and want to be able to view/edit it anywhere, I would say AnimeSeen is the place to go. Signing up is simple and free, plus you get to join a growing community of individuals with like-minded interests. So join, join now!
Before I forget, those interested in seeing what anime I have wasted my life on, can either click on the button link on the left or here. Just to let one know, if there was any downside to AnimeSeen, it would have to be that one has to manually enter all the information/series by hand. Not too bad if you’re relatively new to anime or simply importing in whatever list you already have, but if you’re starting from scratch it can be long and annoying. For my list, spent like 2-3 days basically going through all of ANN’s encyclopedia and adding in the necessary entries when I saw series I know I saw. The list still isn’t perfect but probably is a 90% accurate reading of what I have seen or am currently watching…
… which, after looking over myself, seem to include a lot of crappy series. Like Yumeria. Or Buzzer Beater. Or Divergence Eve. Or Eiken…
… I watch a lot of shitty series, don’t I?

I like that it seems to be lightweight, but…I already did this once at AniDB (which, having its own titles database, makes adding stuff relatively easy), and I will have a hard time convincing myself to do it again. =\

Ah, I was gonna write about this too as soon as I got my list done. This is definitely one of the best creations I’ve come across. Instead of shifting through my collection to see what I haven’t watched yet, I have a nice organized list right in front of me. It’s also a nice way to show people what you’ve seen or would recomend. I love guru for letting me participate in the beta, even though it’s pretty much open to anyone.

Kurogane, yea I noticed
Seth, completely agree with you. If I already had a full list setup somewhere else, doubt I would take the time to re-do the whole thing again ^^;;
Totali, yep tis very convenient.
hayase, Guru3 answers back pretty fast. Your account should be setup within 24-48 hours.
