Rozen Maiden Cosplay

Just when one thinks Lucky Star is the fore-running of anime references, a dark horse appears! Who and what series is it that’s be under the radar? Well it’s none other than…
… Mayuko Kamikawa from sola! With her spot on cosplay as both Suiseiseki and Souseiseki from Rozen Maiden, plus given her physical status, it has become obvious to this author that Mayuko must be a closet fan only able to express her love for the anime through cosplay!

Obviously, Mayuko favors Suiseiseki as her cosplay character of choice. If she added “~desu” to her normal day conversations, I doubt anyone would be able to resist!

There’s some Japanese myth, as far as I know, that girls cut their hair or change styles when they’re in love. In Mayuko’s case, after admitting her feelings for Takeshi, it’s changing up cosplay costume. As one can see, her Souseiseki’s costume is almost perfect minus the color differences plus helps give her a slight tomboyish charm. I guess Takeshi likes his females looking a little boyish every once in awhile eh?
With sola TV now over, there are only two episodes left that are DVD exclusive. Will we see more Mayuko Rozen Maiden love? A Shinku cosplay? Or maybe Suigintou? Or even better, will Mayuko finally admit her love for the anime and force Takeshi to take her to an anime convention!? Honestly, I hope for all the above but do know this author will be keeping a lookout and let dying readers know as soon as possible ![]()

Mayuko, being trapped eternally in the child’s body, does resemble the Rozenmaidens in many ways. It is not impossible that Mayuko’s character will sympathize with the Rozenmaidens, especially the fact that many of the doll masters would get old while the dolls can never age.

I think it’s just the studio recycling their wardrobe. Sola’s Nomad also animated the Rozen Maiden franchise

Could be, but I definitely see a parallel between Mayuko’s situation and potential issue that will confront Rozen maidens who decided not to duke it out to become Alice.
